Front Desk Host

The Front Desk Host will personify our commitment to taking care of people by creating a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment for our guests. They will check guests in and out, make reservations, and support management in each aspect of operations of the Hotel. The Front Desk Host will be proficient in inventory management, ongoing quality assurance, and communicating with guests, management, and other team members cheerfully and respectfully.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Brand Standards and Company policies and procedures.

  • Support Management in the daily operations of the Hotel.

  • Understand Company goals and participate in achieving them.

  • Proficient in the use of the Property Management System.

  • Welcome guests, make reservations and check guests in and out.

  • Establish and promote an environment of Cleanliness and Friendliness to Hotel Guests.

  • Maintain professional working relationships and communications with hotel staff and Management.

  • Perform Front Desk Host duties to Company and Brand Standards.

  • Participate in ongoing training of Front Desk Hosts.

  • Respond promptly to the needs of our guests.

  • Maintain confidentiality of guests, staff, and management.

  • Understand and actively participate in ensuring Brand compliance, customer service, and maintenance of the property.

  • Ensure Hotel facility, grounds, and work areas are maintained to Company and Brand Standards.

  • Participate in quality assurance inspections to ensure the Hotel facility adheres to Company and Brand expectations.

  • Manage cash transactions to Company and Brand Standards

  • Maintain My Store inventory to Company and Brand Standards.

  • Complete laundry duties each shift.

  • Make coffee, clean, and re-stock supplies in the coffee bar and My Lounge/Business Center

  • Maintain linen inventory to Company and Brand Standards.

  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed.

  • Takes scheduled call time to cover call-outs for Front Desk Host AM, PM, and Night Audit shifts.

  • Accurately complete the Night Audit checklist and reporting procedures to Company Standards when working Night Audit shifts. 

  • Promotes all Company/Brand guest loyalty programs. 

  • Maintain operational records, logs and worksheets as required by management.

  • Answer phones and communicate messages accurately.

  • Operate credit card authorization terminal, verify credit card authorizations, and obtain proper approvals.

  • Complete all documentation required by management. 

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Physical Demands


  • Able to lift 50lbs

  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time

  • Able to repetitively bend, kneel, squat, reach, pull, push

  • Able to take on physically challenging duties

  • Able to inspect all of the hotel premises

  • Able to assist guests in emergency situations

  • Able to perform duties of all hotel positions


Job Requirements


  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office. 

  • Competent written and spoken communication skills.

  • Must be punctual, reliable, consistent, and serious about the tasks at hand.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Well-developed interpersonal/customer service skills.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Work authorization:  United States (Required)

Safety Requirements

  • Conform to all Hotel safety requirements.

  • Ensure guest, employee, and hotel security and safety. 

  • Follow procedures for electronic keys and master key set. 

  • Train other staff members on proper techniques/standards for utilizing cleaning solutions. 

  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work environment. 

  • Knowledgeable and able to implement the information in the crisis manual.
